The StoryMap below was developed by 2015/16 Victoria University Summer Scholar Angus Crowe. The essence of the project was to explore the demands soldier rationing placed on the colonial, and especially the Auckland, economy. It follows Deputy Commissary General H. Stanley Jones' account of the transportation of provisions to the front during the Waikato Campaign 1863-4.
